Data sources, licences and cadence

HazardNet is only as good as the data underneath it. This page lists every input, who produces it, how often it updates, what it costs the user (nothing) and what its licence requires of anyone republishing it.

Inputs are research-private

The environmental inputs behind HazardNet's outlooks, and how they are collected and combined, are research-private and are not published. What is published is the output: district hazard outlooks with provenance.

Official warning context

Official warnings come from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department for weather hazards and the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre for river floods; the Department of Disaster Management and your local administration lead response. HazardNet defers to them.

If you republish figures derived from HazardNet outputs, cite this site and the forecast date behind each figure.

What HazardNet adds

A comparable severity value per district and forecast date, two honest severity tracks, published alert levels where policy applies, and the provenance to check every number.
